The school-to-prison pipeline is ever-growing and, through this project, we wanted to unpick some of the issues that perpetuate the cycle of school exclusion. We collaborated with an amazing group of young women at Pimlico Academy to support them in making their own ‘creative manifesto’ to platform their experiences of school. Through art making, we explored how race, gender, social circles and community influence attitudes and interactions inside of school.

This project was originally developed at Element before its closure in 2024. It’s since been recommissioned and is now led independently by me and my colleague, Jordann.
